Business trip to Ulsan

The rolling scenery

I'm writing this in a train with my notebook and an HSDPA internet modem as I cruise down from Suwon to Ulsan in a 4-and-a-half-hour trip. As always, it's good to live in a wired (wireless?) country.

K-EMS project is progressing one step further as a monthly meeting is held to gather all parties from the project. This month happens to take place in Ulsan, my hometown, and I've been called to join the senior staffs. I would have time to visit my parents, of course.

Going home for Christmas

I'm actually at Gimpo International Airport right now to visit my parents. The Toon-Box will return next week after Christmas. I have a story to tell about the mess I went through coming to the airport, but maybe I'll talk about that here when I have time. Sigh...

On flight to San Francisco!

This plane's got internet

For the first time in 12 years I'm going to be stepping on American soil. It's about freakin' time! I'll be staying in United States for about a week, devoting half the time to San Francisco and Los Angeles each.

The flight features free (for now) wireless internet. The photo's just been taken a few minutes ago, in fact. Good thing I brought my laptop with me.

Rendezvous with Nuclear (Part 2)



The first thing that came into view as we entered the exhibition room was a map of the world showing where the nuclear reactors have been built. The guide explained that, with 20 reactors, Korea ranked 6th in nuclear power generation capacity, trailing Germany. United States came out on top but they haven't really built new ones in about 3 decades. Two things were evident about Korea regarding this ranking: its reliance on nuclear power is significant, and its overall energy consumption is quite large as well.
